Wedding at Cana
St. John 2 - Wedding at Cana
On the third day there was a marriage at Cana of Galilee,...
3: When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They
have no wine."
6: Now six stone jars were standing there,...
7: Jesus said to them, "Fill the jars with water."..."Now
draw some out, and take it to the steward of the feast."
9: When the steward...tasted the water now become wine,...the steward
called the bridegroom
10: and said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first...; but
you have kept the good wine until now."
11: This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested
his glory;...
Healing
St.
Matthew 9 Healing the Paralytic:
2: And behold, they brought him a paralytic, lying on his bed;
and when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, "Take heart,
my son; your sins are forgiven."
3: And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man
is blaspheming."
4: But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil
in your hearts?
5: for which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say 'Rise
and walk'?
6: But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on eath to
forgive sins" -- he then said to the paralytic -- "Rise, take
up your bed and go home."
7: And he rose and went home.
Baptism
of Christ
St. Mark 1 Jesus is baptized
4: John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness,...
7: And he preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than
I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
8: I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy
Spirit."
9: In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by
John in the Jordan.
10: And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens
opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove;
11: and a voice came from heaven, "Thou art my beloved Son; with thee
I am well pleased."
The
Last Supper
St. Luke 22 The Lord's Supper
7: Then came the day of unleavened bread,...
8: And he sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare us the passover,
that we may eat it."
14: And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with
him.
19: And he took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave unto them
saying, "This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance
of me."
20: Like-wise also the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the
new testament in my blood, which is shed for you."
